Traditional Thai Massage (Thai Yoga Therapy, Nuad phaen boran or Nuat Thai) is an ancient art and a therapeutic technique developed thousands of years ago. According to the legend, it was created and developed by Jivaka Komarabhacca, also known as Shivago, the personal attendant of Buddha and the most removed practitioner of his time. As the legend states, this patron saint of Thai Medicine was miraculously found and saved from predators after he was abandoned on a heap of rubbish as a baby by his mother, probably a prostitute. He was named to celebrate this event, as java means alive. Shivago became a famous doctor, surgeon and herbologist. Thai massage is a great way to relieve tension, stress, muscle numbness and pain. It brings lots of benefits to the people who are exposed to work in adverse conditions. Sitting at the computer for the long hours, constant speed, not enough sleep and irritability make the body disturbed and the delicate balance that is essential for maintaining the body and mind in health and freedom is disturbed.
Sometimes massage is not enough then it is good to get away for a few days and relax both body and mind – I recommend Stockholm city full of museums, where you are certainly manage to calm and de-stress.
